Lemongrass Primer


This is lemongrass.  It is a wonderful herb that adds a delicate flavor to foods.  Here's a little primer in case you don't know how to chop and store lemongrass.  According to Andrea Nguyen of VietWorldKitchen, it is ok to freeze lemongrass.  I will try it and let you know.  I will also ask Hong's mom.  Hong is one of my best friends --we've been best friends for almost 30 years!  Her mom, Rosalie, is an excellent cook and one of my favorite people ever.  She is certainly an authority on all foods Vietnamese --I will let you know what she says.

Remove any damaged outer leaves and cut off tough root end.
