This is lemongrass. It is a wonderful herb that adds a delicate flavor to foods. Here's a little primer in case you don't know how to chop and store lemongrass. According to Andrea Nguyen of VietWorldKitchen, it is ok to freeze lemongrass. I will try it and let you know. I will also ask Hong's mom.
