Natural RED dye for Valentine's treats

Isn't the color beautiful?!!  Just in time for Valentine's Day tomorrow.  It is super easy to make natural red-colored dye for your treats.  I always use chocolate to write on my cakes and never use artificial dyes to color my frosting.  It is easy to use fresh fruit as the dye...Au Natural is the way to go in my opinion.  A lot safer and healthier for your body.

Natural Red Dye Coloring

1 pint of organic Raspberries (or use blackberries for a purple or blue color!)
fresh lemon juice
Water (if needed)

Put berries into sauce pan and heat on low/medium.  Use a spoon to mash the berries to help the berries release their juices- add a splash of water if needed.  When berries are cooked and lots of juice has been released, add a squeeze of fresh lemon  --this will keep the color vibrant.  Strain juice into bowl.  Add to frosting as desired!  Enjoy!
